The War Studies Society, together with History Society, will be remembering WWI this week by hosting a series of events.
World at War – Sharing Perspectives on WWI
We have invited King’s faculty members to talk about the different countries and regions who participated in the war and share their perspectives with us. The event is taking place in the Great Hall at Strand at 6:30 PM. A drinks reception will follow. The event can be found on Facebook.
We invite students from King’s to participate and discuss the following question: Is it fair to say that the First World War ended with the Armistice of November 1918?
This is a great chance to enhance debating and public speaking skills for participants. It is also a brilliant chance to listen to the insights and perspectives of the new generations of historians and scholars students at KCL represent. The event can be found on Facebook.
The War Studies Society is proud to announce a collaborative reception to welcome guests from the public & private sector, including :
-Mr. Matthew Lever (Policy Adviser at 10 Downing Street, Civil Servant and King’ alumni)
-Mrs. Lorna Williamson (Teach First, university recruiter)
-Mr. Dominic Moffit, (Senior Parliamentary assistant)
-Mrs. Lucile Stengel (Lensational, Head of social media and Editor)
More guests will be announced soon.
This is the ideal opportunity for students to create their network in their dream field and create new contacts for potential employment/internships!
And as if it wasn’t appealing enough… Free wine!

The Welcome Picnic on the 2nd was a success! Catching the last bit of sun London has to offer, it was good to see old and new faces and take part in a war studies quiz— even if most questions were super obscure. A big thank you to the duo of Tomass and Ulysse for putting together the eclectic thang.
We were so excited to meet all of you these past two days at the Freshers Fair! Again, welcome to King’s, and we look forward to seeing you at our events in the near future.
